Questions & answers
Everything, answered.
Who is Thomas Bramwell?
Thomas Bramwell is a UK interior design, furnishing and contract furniture business based in Chichester, West Sussex. Hospitality and leisure (holiday parks, luxury lodges, glamping, hotels, pubs, restaurants and leisure venues) is a specialism, alongside our wider interiors and furniture work. We coordinate the design, our own Collection, the products we source, the FF&E specification, the supply and the installation as a single point of contact.
What does Thomas Bramwell do?
We design and furnish holiday accommodation, hospitality venues and commercial interiors, and we develop our own furniture. There are four ways clients work with us: Interior Design & Fit-Out, where the interior is designed specifically for the project; Multi-Unit Furnishing & FF&E, where a number of units are furnished to a considered standard; Contract Furniture on its own; and set Furniture Packages, which are currently in development. Design, specification, manufacture, procurement, supply and installation are coordinated by one team.
Do you have your own furniture collection?
Yes. The Thomas Bramwell Collection (sofas, beds, headboards, mattresses, armchairs and cushions) is designed and developed by Thomas Bramwell and manufactured for us in the UK, specified for contract use rather than adapted from a domestic frame. Selected pieces can be made to project-specific dimensions. We also develop bespoke pieces where a project requires them, and source the remainder from ranges we have supplied for years. The website labels which is which.
Do you supply lodge manufacturers?
Yes, and it is a market we actively want. A manufacturer needs one specification that can be dropped into every unit coming off the line, costed once and ordered against repeatedly. We settle and cost that specification once and supply against it unit by unit, coordinated with the build programme. The set Furniture Packages that will make this an off-the-shelf product are still in development.
Where are you based and what areas do you cover?
We are based in Selsey, Chichester on the South Coast and deliver projects nationwide across the UK.
Are you a furniture supplier or an interior designer?
Both. Thomas Bramwell designs the scheme, develops part of it through our own Collection (designed and developed by us and manufactured for us in the UK), sources the rest from ranges we have supplied for years, delivers it on one coordinated schedule and coordinates the installation. That span (design, manufacture, source, supply and furnish) is what separates us from a designer who has to buy in, or a supplier who cannot design.
Do you design holiday park interiors?
Yes — holiday parks and resorts are a core specialism, including fleet refurbishment and new accommodation, plus reception and communal spaces.
Do you work on luxury lodges and glamping?
Yes — premium lodge and glamping interiors, furniture and FF&E, coordinated to your build programme. The set Furniture Packages are a separate offer and are still in development.
Is your furniture suitable for commercial use?
Furniture, finishes and FF&E are specified to suit the commercial, operational and regulatory requirements of each project. Fire-rated (Crib 5 / BS 7176) and weather-resistant options are specified where the setting and the regulations call for them.
What are the stages of a project?
Initial enquiry → site consultation & survey → concept & design → specification → manufacture, source & supply → installation → completion & review. The initial enquiry is a conversation at no charge; the site consultation and survey is chargeable, and quoted and agreed in advance. Design scope and fee (including any mood boards, drawings and 3D visuals) are agreed at the outset of the concept and design stage.
How much does holiday park or lodge interior design cost?
It depends on the scope (supplying furniture, refurbishing an existing unit, or designing and furnishing a complete interior) and on the number of units, the specification and the programme. Tell us the unit count and what you are planning and we will come back with an indication.
Are your materials sustainable?
Sustainability shows in what we have actually done. In 2012 our Ecollection Bison furniture and planters, made from recycled plastics, featured in Aralia Garden Design’s Rooftop Workplace of Tomorrow at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which was awarded a Silver Flora medal, and our work was recognised in Kevin McCloud’s Green Heroes in 2014. Where the scheme allows we specify FSC-certified timber, recycled-plastic outdoor ranges and UK manufacture. It is specified project by project rather than being a property of everything we supply.
